Visit to POPs and Grammy Suze

Happy Halloween! Vara is almost two....

So I am almost two, and can’t quite verbalize what I want to be for Halloween, or really much other than the basic commands that indicate food, fun, surroundings and when I am mad I let you know…. The occasional song or full sentence….

Point being, this is what happens when Mom decides what I will be and tries to make it!

Happy Halloween… TRICK OR TREAT

I can't believe it will be almost 2 years soon... whew. I just love you so much. You are a joy and treat. You now think any book without photos is a Bible... said BIIIIBELLL.

you are tall and have the smile that makes all tears go away. You LOVE water still, but are starting to hate it in your eyes. Most days you can be found wearing a single pony tail in the middle of your head to hold your "bangs" out of your eyes. We want them to grow out...

You loves SHOES and stocks..(socks) and no more monkies jumping on the bed. Itsy spider, patty cake and so many more songs... STARS and MOONS are pretty cool and you love the chicken sound and wings!
We love you

FIVE YEARS LATER!

We have been Married 5 years tomorrow. Been in the teen ministry almost that long. It has been our pleasure to serve, and our sadness to leave. But we have had some really great times! Vara has been the youngest of about 30 since she was born, and the teens are all her "family".

What a wonderful ride it has been. It has been our pleasure, privilege and honor to serve in the Teen Ministry. Seeing most of you last evening, it became so clear that all the work, time and effort from all the families and our family really has built a strong foundation. We are so excited to continue to be involved as "spectators". But assure you we hope to be involved as much as you will let us!Please know we have grown so much knowing you all and working with the teens. Truly a wealth of knowledge and spirituality, the kids benefited us more than we can ever express. Teens, you will not always be teens, but you will always be our teens. We love you.Parents, thank you for loving us and trusting us with your kids. We hope we can grow closer to you all as we enter the realm of ADULTS and continue on that special journey.Teen workers and Corrie and Stef. Thank you for your patience, unconditional love and respect. We enjoyed the chance to build a life with you all in it.Our first 5 years of marriage will forever be marked by you in it, and our experiences in the teen ministry. For that we are truly grateful. Thank you so much for all you gave us, prayed for us, and loved us. We hope to continue to honor it with our service and faith. Love Todd, Emily, Sweet Vara James.... and of course NALA Hopkins.

Vara is 16 months old. She was not 31 lbs last time, as indicated, she is about 27lbs. She, just last evening took a few steps, AMEN. I am glad her dad doesn't have to carry her down the aisle! We love her so much and are truly blessed for all she has given us.

Vara had a fever related seizure last week. It was scary. We were able to call 911 and help her, but i truly hope it does not happend again.

Approximately one in every 25 children will have at least one febrile seizure, and more than one-third of these children will have additional febrile seizures before they outgrow the tendency to have them. Febrile seizures usually occur in children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years and are particularly common in toddlers. Children rarely develop their first febrile seizure before the age of 6 months or after 3 years of age. The older a child is when the first febrile seizure occurs, the less likely that child is to have more.

We went to visit in CA.
